“Drive the Vote,” is a 4-part video series featuring interviews with LGBTQ voters across four battleground states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The series follows Mathew Lasky, GLAAD’s Director of Communications, as he drives across the country to talk with LGBTQ voters about the upcoming election, why they’re voting, and what issues matter most to them.

Episode 1: Pennsylvania

The first video in the series, features Connie Ticho, a young, non-binary voter, in their hometown of Allentown, Pennsylvania. This episode was produced in partnership with Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center in Allentown, PA.

 
 

Episode 2: Ohio

In this episode, we travel to Ohio to chat with Letha, a small business owner, parent, and founder of the local non-profit "Out, Black & Proud." Letha speaks about how COVID-19 has impacted small businesses. She also speaks about voter suppression in her community.

Episode 4: Michigan

In this episode, we visit Kalamazoo, Michigan to chat with Jon Hoadley, a Michigan State Representative who ran for Congress in Michigan’s sixth Congressional District. Jon made history as Michigan’s first openly gay nominee for U.S. Congress. Jon opened up about what the experience has been like for him personally, and the world he hopes to see for future LGBTQ people who decide to run for office.

 

Episode 4: Wisconsin

The final stop was Menomonie, Wisconsin. Here we met with Camden, a transgender father of two. During this episode, Camden discusses the differences between living in rural versus urban areas and how the election of Donald Trump has shaped his small town experience.
